LiveWell Spring Summit 2024

Mark your calendars to attend the LiveWell Douglas County Spring Summit on April 11, 2024! This will be a FUNtastic opportunity to connect with others who are passionate about improving the health and well-being of our community. We will celebrate our coalition accomplishments and energize efforts to build connected communities that support the health of all.

The summit will kick-off with keynote speaker, Vickie James, RDN, LD, followed by a panel of local community health leaders and advocates. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. with the summit beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Flory Meeting Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.

Healthy Food for All 2023 Culture of Health Champion

The 2023 LiveWell Healthy Food for All Culture of Health Champion is Emily Lysen. Emily serves as the Director of Development for the Lawrence Farmers’ Market and Chair of the Douglas County Food Policy Council. She is a force-of-energy dressed in festive food-themed costumes, working hard to improve access to local, healthy, affordable food for diverse populations. In addition to all of her job responsibilities with the farmers’ market, Emily worked in partnership with LiveWell to receive two Pathways to a Healthy Kansas grants that will create opportunities for underserved community members, including Youth, Seniors, SNAP recipients, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color to participate in our local food system.
