Healthy Built Environment work group promotes active lifestyles by working with policymakers to increase and improve trails, sidewalks, public transit, parks and other community resources.
Healthy Food For All work group supports policy and system changes to enhance access to healthy foods and reduce food insecurity in Douglas County.
Healthy Kids work group is working to improve the physical, mental and social well-being of Douglas County children and youth so everyone has the opportunity to thrive in a community that fosters resiliency, creativity and wellness.
Tobacco-Free Living work group develops and expands public support for system changes that transform community values around tobacco.
WorkWell work group promotes wellness policies and practices in workplaces with a focus on physical activity, nutrition and tobacco use by promoting a workplace culture of health by sharing results-oriented wellness best practices.
Sexual Violence Prevention work group works to address the root causes of sexual violence, such as gender pay inequity and high levels of binge drinking.

Douglas County Community Foundation convened a steering committee, which would become LiveWell Douglas County, to leverage and coordinate community-based efforts to encourage healthy lifestyles.
Grant Dollars Provided to Douglas County
LiveWell Douglas County worked with partners across the county to improve health
through policy, systems, and environmental changes. Thanks to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Pathways Initiative, partnering organizations received implementation grants.
